In the spirit of  International Day of the Girl Child, Miss South Africa 2025 finalists visited a high-performance school in Soweto. This visit embodied the organisation’s new era mission, Empower Youth Africa (EYA), which focuses on driving positive change and empowering young people to become leaders in their communities.

 

Empowering Young Girls in STEAM

 

The finalists interacted with the learners, sharing their experiences and insights in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). This initiative aims to inspire and motivate young girls to pursue careers in these high-demand fields, bridging the gender gap and fostering innovation.

“This visit is a testament to our commitment to empowering young people, especially girls, to become the next generation of leaders in STEAM fields. We believe in the potential of our youth and are dedicated to providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed.

 

The Empower Youth Africa (EYA) programme that has been introduced by the Miss South Africa Organisation as an impact driven concept which will drive the development of strategies dealing with areas of critical need in South Africa.

As part of EYA, all nine 2025 finalists have a mandate that requires them to focus on:

  • Youth Unemployment
  • Entrepreneurship & Skills Development
  • Education Access
  • Health @ Wellness
  • Civic Engagement
  • Pan African Collaboration & Cultural Exchange.

Shifting focus and taking the Miss South Africa into a new direction means that the next Miss South Africa is an ambassador with deep purpose and a voice that reflects this country.
