Miss South Africa 2026 will be crowned on Saturday, 14 November 2026 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Tickets for the finale are now on sale through Ticketpro, starting at R450. Tickets are available in four categories: Silver at R450, Gold at R600, VIP at R1,600 and VVIP at R2,000. Bookings can be made at Ticketpro.

Entertainment personalities Kuhle Adams and Kat Sinivasan will host the official Miss South Africa 2026 red carpet, welcoming guests ahead of the finale. The red carpet opens at 16:00, with doors to the finale arena opening at 19:00. Admission is restricted to guests aged 18 and over.

The first set of confirmed performers are the Ndlovu Youth Choir and JAZZWRLD, formerly known as Jazzworx, featuring Thukuthela. Their performances will bring together South African choral music and contemporary African sounds as twelve finalists take to the stage for the crowning of Miss South Africa 2026.

This year’s production will unfold under the creative theme “From Imbokodo to Diamond”, celebrating South African women’s strength, resilience and leadership. It draws inspiration from Imbokodo as a symbol of women’s strength, service and contribution to society, and from the brilliance of the diamond.

The show will combine African heritage, contemporary fashion, music, stage design and storytelling. Beyond the crowning, the finale will highlight Miss South Africa’s role as a national platform for leadership and social transformation, with all twelve finalists carrying a mandate to lead, inspire and create meaningful impact. Through Empower Youth Africa (EYA), the platform’s purpose extends to empowering young people and creating pathways to opportunity.

The Sandton Convention Centre will house the production across more than 10,000 square metres of combined venue space. The venue is within easy reach of Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square and the Sandton Gautrain station.

Eugene Naidoo has been appointed broadcast director for the 2026 finale. His experience spans live entertainment broadcasts, music events and major television productions, including the South African Film and Television Awards.

Further announcements, including headline artists, main-show hosts and the official judging panel, will follow in the coming weeks.

Miss South Africa’s The Mandate

Premiering ahead of the Miss South Africa 2026 Finale, The Mandate is a seven-part premium documentary series that follows nineteen exceptional young women as they navigate a rigorous journey of leadership, entrepreneurship, personal transformation and public purpose.

More than a behind-the-scenes look at a national title competition, The Mandate offers a rare window into the aspirations, intellect, resilience and ambition of a new generation of African women.

It is a story about women preparing not merely for a title, but for influence. Not merely for recognition, but for responsibility. And not merely for a moment, but for a mission. Ultimately, one woman will be crowned Miss South Africa 2026. But the central question of The Mandate is not who will win. It is who will lead.

And it challenges long-held assumptions about what the Miss South Africa platform represents today.

For decades, the Miss South Africa crown has been one of the country’s most recognized cultural symbols. Yet behind that symbol lies something far more consequential: the responsibility to lead, advocate, inspire and create impact.

The Miss South Africa Organisation, together with Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, and Top 5 finalist Gizelle Venske, partnered with the Centre for Wellness, Equity and Leadership (CWEL) during a Mamelodi Sundowns match-day activation at Loftus Versfeld Stadium to raise awareness about Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB).

The activation centred on a simple but powerful message:

She should be budgeting for her future, not budgeting for her safety.

At its core, Gender-Responsive Budgeting asks a critical question of every public spending decision: Does the budget work equally for women and girls?

A road is not just a road. Is it well lit? Is public transport safe and accessible? Can a young woman travel safely after work, school or a sporting event? Can she access healthcare, safe public spaces and adequately funded gender-based violence support services when she needs them?

These questions are central to South Africa’s commitment to gender equality. In 2019, Cabinet approved the Gender Responsive Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring, Evaluation and Auditing (GRPBMEA) Framework, providing a mechanism to better integrate gender considerations into government planning and spending.

The Miss South Africa Organisation is proud to use its platform to amplify this important conversation and encourage greater public awareness of how budgets shape everyday experiences and opportunities for women and girls.

“Safety is not only a policy issue. It is a budgeting issue. Real change happens when our values are reflected in our budgets. Budgets are not just numbers; they are choices about streetlights, safe transport, safe public spaces and properly funded GBV services. That is what Budget for Her Safety means.”

Through initiatives such as #BudgetForHerSafety and #GRBNow, Miss South Africa continues to advocate for systems, spaces and investments that enable women and girls to move freely, learn, work, lead and thrive.

Minnie Dlamini Introduces a New Generation of South African Women Defining Leadership, Purpose and Influence

Johannesburg, South Africa, 19 August 2026, the next chapter of the Miss South Africa 2026 journey has officially begun.

In a striking House of Nala creation, actress, entrepreneur and media personality Minnie Dlamini unveiled the Miss South Africa 2026 Top 19. More than a milestone in the competition, the announcement marks the emergence of a remarkable group of young women whose ambition, intellect, leadership and commitment to social impact have distinguished them as voices of a generation.

Drawn from the Top 24, the Top 19 earned their place following an intensive judging process that challenged them to demonstrate not only who they are, but what they stand for. Through personal storytelling, rigorous interviews and purpose-driven presentations, each contestant was assessed on her ability to lead with authenticity, think strategically and create meaningful change within her community and beyond.

The judging panel brought together some of South Africa’s most respected leaders and changemakers: Dr Aisha Pandor, entrepreneur, investor and Co-Founder and CEO of Pandora Health; Shudufhadzo Musida, Miss South Africa 2020, global advocate and strategist; and Colleen Larsen, Founder and CEO of Business Engage. The process was independently audited by PwC.

Together, the judges evaluated each contestant through a contemporary leadership lens, considering qualities such as vision, resilience, influence, innovation, social impact and the ability to inspire collective progress.

THE MISS SOUTH AFRICA 2026 TOP 19

Alia Khan Koumantarakis – KwaZulu-Natal
Amogelang Bunu – Gauteng
Bonolo Marang Motau – Gauteng
Cwenga Koyana Kotu-Rammopo – Gauteng
Ipeleng Pearl Madiba – North West
Katlego Malebye – Gauteng
Kaylan Matthews – Eastern Cape
Kendra Norah Horne – Western Cape
Lesego Khumo Nyathela – Gauteng
Makhosazana Azana Masango – KwaZulu-Natal
Modiegi Mashamaite – Gauteng
Ndiwanga Muravha – Mpumalanga
Palesa van Rooyen – Free State
Simoné Nonhlanhla Tshituka – Gauteng
Sunshine Dlangamandla – Gauteng
Tebogo Palesa Molatlhegi – Gauteng
Tiyani Makamu – Gauteng
Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg – Gauteng
Sanelisiwe Diko – Eastern Cape – Public Vote Winner

The final place in the Top 19 was determined by the South African public, with Sanelisiwe Diko securing her position through the Public Vote and earning the title of Fan Favourite.

As they advance in the competition, the Top 19 will continue developing and expanding their individual initiatives through Empower Youth Africa (EYA), the Miss South Africa Organisation’s flagship impact platform. Their work spans critical areas including education, entrepreneurship, youth development, health and wellness, civic participation and Pan-African collaboration.

Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Patron and Chairperson of the Miss South Africa Organisation, says:

“Miss South Africa has entered an era of leadership, focused on creating meaningful impact at scale. We are committed to developing every contestant, not only the winner. Through Empower Youth Africa, we are cultivating a generation of women who understand their responsibility to society and who are prepared to lead, influence and drive meaningful change far beyond the crown.”

This year’s Top 19 announcement, presented in partnership with House of Nala, reflects a powerful meeting of fashion, purpose and African excellence. It celebrates women who are not only pursuing a title, but who are actively shaping the future of South Africa and the continent.

As the competition journey continues, one thing is already clear: Miss South Africa’s New Era is not merely about who will wear the crown. It is about the women who will use their platforms to transform communities, champion progress and redefine what leadership looks like for a new generation.

Johannesburg, South Africa, July 2026 – Miss South Africa 2025 and Empower Youth Africa (EYA) Ambassador Qhawekazi Mazaleni is marking her birthday through a series of purpose-driven initiatives that celebrate literacy, community service, leadership and the empowerment of women and young people.

The programme begins with a special Mandela Day engagement at the Speech Therapy Unit of Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where Qhawekazi will spend time reading to children, sharing stories and celebrating the transformative power of education. Supported by toys donated by the Motsepe Foundation, the initiative reflects the belief that every child deserves access to learning opportunities that inspire imagination, confidence and hope.

The visit will also mark the official launch of the second edition of Amasele Amdaka, now available in all 11 official South African languages. Through this initiative, Qhawekazi is calling on organisations, foundations, schools and members of the public to support literacy by purchasing and donating books to children and communities across the country.

“Birthdays offer an opportunity to reflect on how we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” said Qhawekazi Mazaleni. “Honouring Mandela Day through literacy and education is particularly close to my heart because every child deserves the opportunity to read, learn and dream in the language they understand best.”

While the Mandela Day initiative celebrates literacy and service, it also forms part of a broader journey of impact that will continue into Women’s Month.

On 8 August 2026, the Miss South Africa Organisation will host the Power to Empower Women’s Day High Tea, an inspiring celebration of leadership, purpose and transformation under the theme The Power of Becoming.

The event will bring together influential women leaders, entrepreneurs, change makers and influential women from across South Africa to celebrate the achievements of women while reflecting on the impact of Empower Youth Africa. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with Qhawekazi and members of the Miss South Africa community and its stakeholders, while witnessing the unveiling of the 2025 EYA Impact Report and the first public appearance of the Miss South Africa 2026 Top 19 finalists.

Patron and Chairman of the Miss South Africa Organisation, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, said:

“Through Empower Youth Africa, we continue to witness the remarkable impact that purpose-driven leadership can have on communities. From promoting literacy and education to creating opportunities for young people and celebrating women’s leadership, these initiatives reflect our commitment to shaping a more inclusive and empowered future.”

Together, the Mandela Day initiative and the Women’s Month celebration reflect Miss South Africa’s ongoing commitment to advancing education, empowerment, entrepreneurship and community development through the Empower Youth Africa initiative, which is the organisations’ social enterprise entity and at the heart of Miss South Africa.

Durban, South Africa, July 5, 2026 – On one of the most storied days in South African racing, Miss South Africa 2025 Qhawekazi Mazaleni made a memorable appearance at the Hollywoodbets Durban July. Clad in a bespoke creation by House of NALA, she interpreted this year’s “Country Allure” theme as a tribute to her roots rather than an exercise in nostalgia.

The look, crafted in collaboration with House of NALA Atelier and designer Loice Dube, drew inspiration from South Africa’s rural landscapes. It captured the texture of the land, the discipline of craft, and the quiet authority of communities that have long mastered the art of creating beauty from their surroundings.

As an Empower Youth Africa Ambassador and advocate for literacy, Qhawekazi has dedicated her reign to transforming platforms into opportunities. At the event, she paid homage to Pan-African artisanship through a design that celebrated heritage, craftsmanship and identity.

QHAWEKAZI MAZALENI ON THE LOOK:

“Luxury, for me, isn’t something I have to import. It’s something I remember and feel. It resides in the hands that weave, dye and build from our soil. House of NALA designers view African craft not as mere inspiration, but as a fundamental infrastructure. Wearing this is an act of preservation, a way of embracing my heritage.”

LOICE DUBE, HOUSE OF NALA DESIGNER:

“Country Allure asked us to look outward, but we chose to look inward. We explored the homesteads, markets and techniques passed down without manuals. We worked with locally sourced materials and ancestral methods because that’s where true couture begins. Rural Africa isn’t just a mood board; it’s the archive.”

The ensemble positioned House of NALA at the forefront of contemporary African fashion’s next chapter. Here, heritage was not merely referenced but engineered. Through the collaboration, Miss South Africa celebrated culture not as inspiration, but as something worthy of recognition, elevation and pride.
