Lisa Mareë Van Zyl - 2009 Second Princess

The breathtaking Lisa Mareë van Zyl was crowned Second Princess in the 2009 Miss South Africa Pageant held at the spectacular Sun City Superbowl.

This 23 year old beauty from Cape Town is a professional model. She has a Financial Management National Diploma from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. As well modelling, she is currently studying Finance and Investments at the University of the Western Cape to obtain her Bcom Honours degree. Once she this has completed her studies, Lisa Mareë hopes to pursue a career in politics.

Her prestigious title as Second Princess will allow her to highlight socio-economic situations in South Africa as well as address the importance of physical fitness and hygiene in disadvantaged schools. Lisa Mareë says, “I would like to be part of the dynamic change occurring within South Africa and make a valuable contribution to society.”

Lisa Mareë finds inspiration in ordinary people who do extraordinary things. She greatly admires the tennis legend, Billie Jean King, for her fight for gender equality, proving that women can service and excel in pressurised situations.
