Remona Moodley - 2011 1st Princess

Remona Moodley was recently crowned 1st Princess at the Miss South Africa 2010 pageant in December.

This fascinating young woman has a wide variety of achievements to her name proving that she is far from the stereotypical beauty queen. In 2005 she was crowned the youngest ever Miss India South Africa at only 17 during her Matric year and still managed to complete the year with 5 distinctions. She then went on to study Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) at the University of Cape Town.

During her first year she was crowned runner-up to Zizo Beda at Miss South Africa Teen 2006. In 2010, Remona attended the World Economic Forum in Switzerland as a Brand Ambassador for South Africa in an effort to promote the soccer World Cup. Most recently, Remona was crowned runner-up to the lovely Melinda Bam at the Miss South Africa competition and went on to graduate as an Electrical Engineer two days later.

In 2010 Remona became the founder and National Director of a registered NPO called the Fund-A-Dream Foundation. This year she will be working on the charity fulltime till April after which she will begin her career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company.
