Miss South Africa: 2011 Finalists

Melinda Bam

Melinda is a 22 year old ambitious and well-liked young lady currently living in Pretoria, the Jacaranda City. She is studying BCOM in Marketing at the University of Pretoria. Melinda matriculated in 2007 and continues to be a student who is hard-working, well-mannered and friendly. She believes she has the motivation, ambition and confidence to become an inspiring ambassador to South Africa and the youth of South Africa.

This 1.7 metre tall vibrant young woman has held titles for Miss Tropika, Me Waterkloof and Candy Girl pageants. Melinda has deep brown eyes and sun-kissed blonde hair which add to her fresh and approachable looks. Watch Melinda's video profile

Lwandle Ngwenya

Lwandle is 21 years old and is from Glenwood, Durban. She won Miss Durban in 2009 and currently holds the title for Miss Spring 2010. She speaks English, Siswati and isiZulu and is confident and relaxed in front of the camera. For her, being a Miss South Africa Finalist has been a dream for as long as she can remember and Lwandle believes she has the passion and spirit to win the Miss South Africa crown in 2011.

Standing at 1.77 metres tall, mostly made up of slim legs, Lwandle has a heart-shape face which suits her open, lovely personality. Watch Lwandle's video profile

Thuli Sangweni

Thuli is 21 years old and resides in Johannesburg. This go-getter has experience in modelling and is currently studying a IMM Marketing degree. Thuli  is 1.8 metres tall, slim and active and would like to use the opportunity of the Miss South Africa pageant as a platform to encourage young women in the country to strive for greatness.

Thuli has silky smooth golden skin and deep, round brown eyes accentuated by a full mouth and wide smile. Watch Thuli's video profile

Remona Moodley

No stranger to pageants and in particular, the Sun International brand of pageants, Remona held the title of First Princess for the Miss SA Teen in 2006 and was crowned Miss India South Africa in 2005. Remona is now 22 years old and lives in Cape Town and is studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. She would also like to obtain a pilot’s license one day.

Remona is a smart young woman set for success in business but would also like to use this opportunity to create positive platforms of success for South Africans as she feels fortunate to have been provided the same. Watch Remona's video profile

Frieda Du Plessis

Frieda is a teacher who lives in Pretoria. She holds the title of Miss Rekord 2010 and recently First Princess title for Miss Modern Woman 2011. Frieda is 25 years old and enjoys giving of her time to others, she would like to further enrich the lives of others and wants to grow and learn from this experience with Miss South Africa.

Sian Schleusch

At just 21 years old, Sian is focused, driven and clear in her dreams; she would like to complete her studies in Marketing Management as well as create collaborative networks to help develop opportunities for others. She also aspires to be a spokesperson for under-resourced and challenged communities in helping them achieve and grow.

Sian is a model for an agency in Johannesburg, where she lives and has won a number of pageants over the years. This beautiful young woman is 1.84 metres and has striking blue eyes. Watch Sian's video profile

Lerato Mokoena

Lerato hails from Vereeniging in the Gauteng province and is 22 years old. This young woman speaks English, Afrikaans and South Sotho and has studied and completed a BA in Tourism Development at the University of Johannesburg.

She has previously won titles as Second Princess for Miss Bikini SA and Miss Soweto and holds the title of Miss Emfuleni 2010. This inspired model would like to establish her own NGO one day reaching underprivileged communities in rural areas of South Africa. Her focus will be to empower the youth of these communities. Caylene Marais

Caylene lives in Roodepoort and is 21 years old, she is 1.73 metres tall with long black hair and almond shaped blue-green eyes. She has a passion for people and it shows in her choice to study Life and Performance Coaching. This young lady strives to create change and a positive shift in people.

Caylene is the current title holder of Miss Valley of the Waves and Miss Western Gauteng. She is a sporty, capable young woman who received provincial colours for Judo and also played first team Water-polo all through high school. She also enjoys giving of her time to teach able-bodied children and those with disabilities, horse riding. Watch Caylene's video profile

Rolene Strauss

Rolene is from the Mpumalanga province and matriculated in 2010. Speaking English and Afrikaans, Rolene is in her first year of studying Medicine and believes she has the characteristics to become an ambassador of South Africa. She is a model for an agency and also holds the title of Miss Diaz 2010 – 2011. She enjoys staying active and has blue-green eyes.

Tamerin Jardine

Twenty three year old Tamerin lives in Sandton, Johannesburg. She made it to the semi-finalists stage of the Miss South Africa pageant previously, in 2009. She is no stranger to the demands of the judges and hopes to utilise her achievement in this years’ pageant to make Miss South Africa an accessible pageant to youth.

A bright young lady who has already earned a BA in Law continues her studies in Johannesburg. Tamerin is passionate about the Earth and greening our environments in order to improve global warming, cleaning up our World and saving water. Watch Tamerin's video profile

Grace Rheeders

Grace is from Durban and is a 21 year old, 1.68 metre tall beauty and is a Lifestyle Manager and PRO for a prestigious financial organisation. She is in her final year of studying Business Management and is set for a successful business career, wherever in the world she may land up in.

Grace was a finalist in the Miss Italia pageant 2008 and has a striking beauty inherited from her Continental /European roots. She hopes to fulfil the duties required of any finalist and would revel in the opportunity of being crowned Miss South Africa 2011. She like to become a positive and inspiring role model for others. Pinky Mathope

Pinky is an optimistic and smart young lady who is currently studying at the Vaal University of Technology as a Metallurgy Engineer. This is a talented woman with a bright future ahead and while modelling and working in Johannesburg, she has also experienced the world of pageantry and is title holder of Miss SA Campus 2010.

Pinky is slim, gorgeous, and has distinct features and at just 21 years old she believes her vivacious personality and passion for life will set her aside from the rest of the crowd. Watch Pinky's video profile
