Miss SA Teen 2009: Chante Jantjies

Meet Chante Jantjies

Miss SA Teen 2009, Chante Jantjies, is 16 years old and attends Lyttleton Manor High School, in Centurion. She has received full national colours for both public speaking and redenaars. She excels in Economics, Life Orientation and Business and was selected as a presenter for one of the local children's television channels. She is also only one of 2 pupils selected to represent her school at the ATKV Jeug Beraad (June 2009). Chante won the Best Director and Best Actress awards in her House Plays and wants to follow up her schooling with a degree in business and pursue a career in marketing, communication and advertising. Her aim is to create employment, contribute to her community and the economy of her country.

"I am confident and fully embrace who I am, flaws and all. I have an outgoing personality and can easily connect with people, make them feel good just by sharing a smile. I have a positive attitude – negative criticism challenges and motivates me" says Chante.

Her greatest inspiration is Walter Sisulu for his humility. "He did so much for this country and yet remained humble. I think that's one of the greatest qualities that a person or leader could possess. Even though he's passed on his legacy still lives on. I aim to leave a legacy behind."

Embracing the Role of Miss Teen SA

Chante believes that winning Miss Teen SA has given her so much more than just a title; she is excited about the opportunity the pageant has afforded her to serve her community and enrich the lives of others. She has seen previous winners lives changed through Miss SA Teen would use the title to further her career in communications.

Her favourite sport and hobbies include girls soccer, singing, piano, creative art, modelling and spending time with her friends.
