18 year old Celeste Khumalo from Sandton Johannesburg was crowned Miss South Africa Teen on Saturday 10 December at the Sun City Superbowl to the audience delight.
Celeste who recently completed matric this year is a well-liked young lady with an approachable demeanour, fresh face and has big dreams. Her ambition is to pursue a BA Degree in Corporate Communications and one day become a media Mogul.
Celeste won 2nd Princess title for the Miss Million Dollar pageant in 2010 and can be seen in print advertisements for Environ Skin Care, so she is already a well-seasoned model, confident and relaxed in front of the camera. This young lady enjoys hobbies like reading, dancing and socialising which keep her fit and busy.
Alexis Van Der Merwe from Sea Point Cape Town was crowned Second Princess. Alexis is a carefree spirit who loves learning how to surf. Her dream is to become an Oceanographer and to encourage people to understand and respect the ocean and marine life. A vibrant young lady with beautiful long blonde hair and blue eyes, Alexis will matriculate in 2012 and looks forward to another busy year of studying as well as continuing her hobbies of reading, surfing and baby-sitting.
First Princess, Tarsha Leigh Jenneke enjoys photography and graphic design. Some of her goals are as modest as learning to drive and completing her studies while others are inspiring for such a young woman, such as opening her own business and becoming involved in charity. Tarsha currently models for an agency in Johannesburg and has experience in front of the camera; she is 1.65 metres tall with long black hair and pure focus in her eyes.
Miss SA Teen plays a significant role in the development and upliftment of South Africa’s youth as well as in her own community. During her reign she will be called on to give motivational speeches focusing on social issues facing the youth of today, such as anti-drugs, crime and abuse all this while concentrating on her education and extra-mural activities - a well-rounded Teen!
